Bosch Dishwasher Error Code E01
Heating element or NTC sensor failure — water not heating
The most common cause of the E01 error on a Bosch dishwasher is heating element open circuit (~55% of cases); start with: test the heating element.
What Does Error Code E01 Mean on a Bosch Dishwasher?
Heating element or NTC sensor failure — water not heating.
E01 fires when the control board cannot bring water to the programmed temperature within the expected time. The board monitors the NTC thermistor while energizing the flow-through heater; an open heating element, an out-of-range or shorted NTC reading, or a failed heater relay all prevent the sensed temperature from rising. Unlike drainage or fill faults, E01 points specifically at the heating circuit, so cycles may run but dishes stay cold and drying is poor.
What Causes Error Code E01?
Here are the most common causes in order of frequency. Start with the most likely cause before moving to the next:
- 1 Heating element open circuit 55% of cases
- 2 NTC temperature sensor failure 30% of cases
- 3 Heater relay on control board failed 15% of cases
